The Port Austin area offers something for everyone, all year long.

Fishing & Boating - Boaters bring your boats. Port Austin has a first class harbor with a full service marina and boat slips. You can fish for salmon, lake trout, walleye, perch and bass. Don’t have a boat, no problem. Fish from the pier or choose from several local charter companies. or take a relaxing canoe ride on the beautiful Pinnebog River through Port Crescent State Park to Lake Huron. Canoe rentals are available near the park entrance. Rent a kayak or bicyclye at the Port Austin Kayak and Bike Rental.
There’s a new attraction out of Caseville - day trips and dinner cruises to visit Historic Charity Island and lighthouse.

Diving - Scuba divers will want to explore the shipwrecks of The Thumb Underwater Bottomland Preserve. Port Austin is at the northern tip of the Thumb Area Great Lakes State Bottomland Preserve containing numerous shipwrecks.

Swimming, Hiking & Picnicking - Plenty of beaches to choose from all along the shores of Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay. The Thumb has two state parks; Port Crescent and Sleeper, several county parks like Bird Creek Beach, Jenks Park and Lighthouse Park. Or you can simply take a short stroll from the motel to the lake.

Hike the shady trails at Huron County Nature Center or the dunes of Port Crescent State Park. Fall brings a glorious explosion of color not to be missed.

Golf - Visit the beautiful 18-hole Bird Creek Golf Club in Port Austin. There are several other golf courses within a short drive of Port Austin.

History - For a look into the past visit Point Aux Barques Lighthouse, the historic buildings at the Huron City Museums and the Thumb Octagon Barn or take a cruise to the lighthouse on Historic Charity Island.

Family Fun - Several mini-golf courses challenge your skills and offer loads of family fun. Test your driving skills on a go-cart track. Be a paddle boat captain. Feel the wind and water while riding on a jet ski. CORN MAZE: Starting daily during Cheesburger in Caseville and continuing weekends through November 1st the whole family can have bushels of fun at Depner Farms.

Dining - Enjoy the many restaurants Huron County has to offer ranging from reasonably priced family fare to elegant cuisine prepared by master chefs. The Farm, The Bank, Breakers On The Bay, and the Garfield Inn are just a few of these fine restaurants. New this year is the dinner cruise to Historic Charity Island.

Theatre - After your meal enjoy a show at the Port Austin Community Players theater. They put on several plays each year.

Shopping - Explore the unique gift and antique stores. Have an old fashioned ice cream cone while you walk the jetty and watch the boats in the harbor.

End your day with a spectacular sunset over Lake Huron. If you’re an early riser you will be rewarded with an equally spectacular sunrise.
